What does this fault code mean?
The linear pressure solenoid SL2, which controls the system pressure to the clutches during gear changes, appears to have stuck in the on position. The control module therefore cannot regulate the clutch pressure correctly, and gears may be blocked.
Possible causes
- Wrong adaptation values held in the TCM's memory
- Contact resistance or poor contact in the connector to linear pressure solenoid SL2
- Linear pressure solenoid SL2 has stuck or is damaged
- Clutch C2 is broken
- Poor quality transmission fluid
- Mechanical fault in the transmission, or an internal fault in the control module or control system
What you can do
- 1First read all codes: if other transmission codes are present, deal with them first, since they may be the root fault
- 2Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3Have a workshop check the connector and wiring of solenoid SL2 and the transmission oil quality
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the clutch and the control module
Symptoms you may notice5
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- The malfunction indicator lamp (Check engine) comes on or behaves abnormally
- The car may feel underpowered
- The engine stalls when a gear is engaged from idle
- No automatic gear change
What the fault can affect3
- The control module blocks gears that are not available
- Neutral check is blocked
- Automatic engine start/stop is switched off
