What does this fault code mean?
The gear selector control module (GSM) has an internal fault and cannot perform its functions correctly. It handles the parking lock, manual gear changes and the display of the selected gear on the selector panel. The code is set when the gear selector control module itself detects an internal fault.

- Internal fault in the gear selector control module (GSM)
- Damaged gear selector control module (GSM)
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, switch it on again and try a manual gear change with the selector (+/-). Check whether it works.
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the manual gear status in live data while you press the brake and move the selector to manual mode and back.
- 3Check that the gear selector's connectors are secure and not corroded.
- 4Keep the selector in each position for a few seconds when you test.
- 5Have a workshop check the gear selector and replace the gear selector control module (GSM) if it is faulty.
