What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the input signals from the up and down positions for manual shifting on the selector. Three sensors in the gear selector control module (GSM) detect a magnet on the gear lever, and the code is set when the signals from the selector do not match manual mode. The cause is that the gear selector control module is not working as it should.
Possible causes
- The gear selector control module (GSM) is not working
What you can do
- 1With a diagnostic tool you can check that the selected gear updates in live data when you move the selector to manual mode.
- 2Move the selector toward + and check that the selected gear updates in both the diagnostic tool and the instrument panel.
- 3Then move the selector toward - and check that the selected gear updates.
- 4Have a workshop check the gear selector control module (GSM), as it does not work as the code describes.
- 5Check that the gear selector's connectors are secure and not corroded.
Symptoms you may notice5
- Shifts as in D while in manual mode
- Gear changes do not happen
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Manual gear changes are not possible
- Automatic gear changes do not happen
