What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the comparison between the transmission torque and the engine torque, so that gear changes do not damage the clutch or transmission. The code is set when the clutch torque and the engine torque differ unreasonably. It may exist alone or be a follow-on fault from another code, so the underlying fault should be checked first.
Possible causes
- The clutch lining is damaged
- The engine torque differs from the calculated value
- The hydraulic oil properties are incorrect
- Damaged clutch unit
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop start by checking the engine control module (ECM), as a fault there can affect the torque signal.
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: note the other fault codes in the transmission and the engine before anything is repaired.
- 3Have a workshop check the clutch unit, as it may be damaged.
- 4Have a workshop check the transmission fluid properties, as incorrect properties can cause the code.
- 5If the check shows the transmission is damaged, have a workshop replace it.
