What does this fault code mean?
The gear selector control module (GSM) has an internal fault. The GSM handles the parking lock, manual shifting and the display of the selected position on the selector's top panel, and it communicates with the transmission control module (TCM) over LIN. The code is set when the selector control module has an internal fault.

- Damaged gear selector control module (GSM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the selector's LEDs for the selected position light up and show the right position when you move the selector.
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault codes from the gear selector control module (GSM) and note whether any others are present.
- 3Check that the selector's connectors are secure and not corroded.
- 4Have a workshop replace the gear selector control module (GSM), or its circuit board, if the fault remains.

- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Manual gear changes are not possible
