What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when gear changes follow each other too quickly. The transmission control module (TCM) controls the shifts with solenoids and linear solenoids, and the cause can be a mechanical or hydraulic fault in the transmission.

- Mechanical fault in the transmission
- Hydraulic fault in the transmission
What you can do
- 1Fix any other fault codes stored for the transmission first, as any of them may be the cause.
- 2Check that the connectors at the transmission are secure and not corroded.
- 3Have a workshop check the transmission oil level, leaks and quality.
- 4Test drive the car and listen for clear noises or faults from the transmission.
- 5Have a workshop calibrate the gear position sensor and check the solenoids, and replace the transmission control system if the fault remains.
