What does this fault code mean?
The solenoid LPS is one of the solenoids in the transmission's mechatronic unit, and it regulates the transmission's system pressure. The code is set when LPS is shorted to ground. The fault can lie in the wiring, the connector, the solenoid or the control module.
Possible causes
- A break in the control circuit for one of the solenoids
- Connector or circuit board is damaged or dirty
- Damaged solenoid
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Make a note of the other fault codes from the transmission before you clear any of them, so the workshop can see them.
- 2Inspect the wire to the solenoid for breaks and for places where it may have touched the body (ground).
- 3Check that the connectors at the transmission are secure and not corroded.
- 4Have a workshop open the transmission control system and inspect the solenoid for oxidation, dirt and metal deposits.
- 5If no fault is found on the wires or the solenoid, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit.

- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- Idle speed is high
