What does this fault code mean?
Solenoid CSPS1 controls the hydraulic pressure across the clutch for the odd gears, and it sits in the transmission's mechatronic unit. The code is set when the solenoid has an open circuit, and gear changes can then be affected.
Possible causes
- Damaged solenoid
- Connector or circuit board is damaged or dirty
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the transmission for dirt, oxidation and loose connections.
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault codes and note any other codes from the transmission.
- 3Have a workshop open the transmission control system and inspect the solenoid for corrosion, poor contacts, dirt and metal debris.
- 4If the fault cannot be fixed or found, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit.

- The check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- No movement forward or backward with a gear selected
- No automatic gear changes
