What does this fault code mean?
Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 handles the gear changes by regulating the hydraulic pressure. The TCM controls the current to it, and the code is set when the current in the solenoid circuit reads wrong. The solenoid can then not regulate the system pressure.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in connections
- A break in the control signal wire or signal ground
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 is stuck or not working
What you can do
- 1Make a note of the other fault codes from the transmission before you clear them.
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the solenoid have no break and are not shorted to voltage or ground.
- 3Check that the connectors at the transmission are secure and not corroded.
- 4Have a workshop check solenoid SLC2 and the transmission control system, and replace the mechatronic unit if needed.
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The eco lamp lights up
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not happen
- Abnormally slipping gear changes
