What does this fault code mean?
The fault code refers to shift solenoid C in the transmission, which controls cooling of the clutch and the hydraulic pressure used for shifting. The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the output stage of the solenoid is short-circuited to ground. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.

- Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
- Damaged solenoid
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and visually inspect the solenoid for oxidation, poor contacts, dirt and metal debris, and check the oil level
- 3If the fault cannot be found or fixed, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit, as the fault is then in the solenoid or the control module
