What does this fault code mean?
The fault code refers to shift solenoid D in the transmission, which controls the cooling flow over the clutch for the odd gears and which pressure is routed to shifting or the clutch for those gears. The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the solenoid is short-circuited to voltage. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.

- Damaged solenoid
- Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop visually inspect the solenoid and its connector for damage and dirt
- 3If the fault cannot be fixed, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit, as the fault is then in the solenoid or the control module

- Check engine light lit or behaving abnormally
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- No automatic gear change, and no forward or reverse movement with a gear engaged
- The car lacks power when starting off
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work, both while driving and at idle
