What does this fault code mean?
The fault code refers to shift solenoid E in the transmission, which controls the cooling flow over the clutch for the even gears. The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the solenoid is short-circuited to voltage. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Damaged solenoid
- Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop visually inspect the solenoid and its connector for damage, oxidation and dirt
- 3If the fault cannot be found or fixed, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit, as the fault is then in the solenoid or the control module
