What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named hydraulic leakage, it points to a mechanical defect in the electric oil pump in the transmission. The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the pump cannot guarantee sufficient oil pressure. The pump is used while automatic engine start/stop is active, to prevent pressure drops in the gearbox.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the electric oil pump
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Check that the connectors to the oil pump and system relay are free from oxidation and loose connections
- 3Have a workshop check the system relay and the voltage cable to the oil pump for an open circuit, and replace the electric oil pump if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice2
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work while driving
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work at idle
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
