What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named temperature sensor circuit, it applies when the pump itself runs too hot. The pump supplies the gearbox with the right pressure and flow while automatic engine start/stop is active, and its temperature is monitored to protect it from excessive load. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- The pump's drive circuit runs too hot
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors to the oil pump and system relay for oxidation and loose connections, and the voltage cable to the oil pump for an open circuit
- 3Have a workshop check the electric oil pump if the code keeps appearing
Symptoms you may notice2
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work while driving
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work at idle
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
