What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named temperature sensor circuit, it applies when the pump's signal wire has been shorted to ground. The pump supplies the gearbox with the right pressure and flow while automatic engine start/stop is active. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of electrical fault it is.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the electric oil pump
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the signal cable to the oil pump for a short-circuit to ground, and the connectors for oxidation and loose connections
- 3Have a workshop replace the electric oil pump if the fault comes back
Symptoms you may notice2
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work while driving
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work at idle
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
