What does this fault code mean?
The fault code concerns the wrong shift fork moving: shift fork 4 moves instead of shift fork 3, which has been requested. Solenoids SHSS1 and SHSS2 control whether the odd or the even gears are used. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Damaged solenoid SHSS1
- Damaged solenoid SHSS2
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check solenoids SHSS1 and SHSS2 and their connections
- 3If the fault remains after this check, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit, which must then be programmed by the workshop

- Gear changes take too long, or are harsh and jerky
- Gear changes too early, too late or too often
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work, both while driving and at idle
