What does this fault code mean?
The fault code concerns the locking of the gear selector, which the gear selector module (GSM) controls with hall sensors. The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the selector is moved from P to R without the hall sensor for the locked P position being affected, and that the TCM sends position D while the locked P position is still active. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.

- Damaged hall sensor
- Defective magnet element in the gear selector

- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop replace the circuit board or the gear selector module, as the fault lies in the hall sensors or the magnet element
