What does this fault code mean?
The fault code concerns the vehicle speed reported by the brake controller (BCM). The signal is missing or indicated as faulty, and the transmission control module uses it to check the input and output speed sensors. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is. The code points to a fault in the brake control module, so troubleshooting is done there.
Possible causes
- Internal fault inside the brake controller (BCM)
- Fault on the CAN network
- Sporadic open or shorted CAN wire between the brake control module and the TCM
- Damaged wheel sensor
- Internal fault inside the control module (TCM) of the gearbox
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the CEM and the brake control module (BCM) and fix those first
- 2The code points to a fault in the brake control module. Clear it only after the root fault is fixed and its fault code is cleared
- 3The brake system is safety critical, so do not work on it yourself. Have a workshop check the CAN lead and the wheel sensors
