What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is event controlled and does not indicate a fault in the control module; it is designed as information. It shows that one or more clutches did not engage as they should while shifting. When a fault occurs, the gearbox goes into neutral or uses the best gear available for the situation. The fault is general and does not say more precisely what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in plugs or connections
- Any of clutches C1 to C4, or brakes B1 and B2, are worn or damaged
- A line pressure solenoid (SL1 to SL5 or SLT) is damaged
- Poor quality of the transmission fluid
- Internal fault in the gearbox control system or in the transmission control module (TCM)
- Mechanical fault in the gearbox
What you can do
- 1The code is informative and does not indicate a fault in the control module. Read and note it, clear it and drive the car
- 2Have a workshop check the transmission oil level and quality, as poor oil can cause this code
- 3If the code comes back, have a workshop diagnose the clutches, the brakes and the line pressure solenoids

- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- The car lacks power, and the engine stalls when a gear is engaged or when slowing down
- No automatic gear change, and no forward or reverse movement with a gear engaged
- Lockup does not work, and gear changes take too long or are harsh and jerky
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work, and engine braking is absent or reduced

- The control module blocks the gears that are not available
- Adaptation and slip lock-up are blocked
- Neutral control is blocked, and automatic engine start/stop is switched off
