What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named low, it refers to an open circuit to pressure control solenoid D (SLC3), which regulates the system pressure in the transmission. When the solenoid receives no control signal, the system pressure cannot be regulated as it should, and this shows up in the gear changes. The fault may lie in the wiring, the connectors, the solenoid or the control module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the control signal wire or in the signal ground
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Solenoid is damaged or not working
- Connector or circuit board is damaged or dirty
- Fault inside the TCM itself
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check the battery and that the fuses are intact
- 3Check the transmission oil level and look for oil leaks
- 4Check that the connectors at the transmission are fully engaged and not corroded or dirty
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the solenoid and wiring, and replace the mechatronic unit if needed
