What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the current in the circuit to pressure control solenoid E (SLB1) is incorrect, so the solenoid cannot regulate the system pressure in the transmission. The fault shows up in the gear changes, which may be harsh, missing or slipping. The cause may be in the wiring, the connectors or the solenoid.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the control signal wire or in the signal ground
- Solenoid SLB1 is stuck or not working
What you can do
- 1This code may be a consequence of TCM-P272900. Check that fault first, then clear this code
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3Check the battery and that the fuses are intact
- 4Check the transmission oil level and look for oil leaks
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the solenoid, the wiring and the connectors, and replace the mechatronic unit if needed
