What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the current in the circuit to pressure control solenoid E (SLB1) is higher than allowed. The fault can show up as harsh, missing or slipping gear changes and as a lock-up function that does not work. The cause may be a control wire shorted to supply voltage, a damaged solenoid or an internal fault in the control module.
Possible causes
- Control signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Solenoid SLB1 is not working
- Fault inside the TCM itself
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check the battery and that the fuses are intact
- 3Check the transmission oil level and look for oil leaks
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the control wire for a short to supply voltage, the solenoid and the control module, and replace the mechatronic unit if needed
