What does this fault code mean?
The position sensor for shift fork A gives the transmission control module (TCM) information about the fork position. The control module uses this to engage the gears mechanically. The code shows that the position of shift fork A is unreasonable.
Possible causes
- Damaged position sensor
- The sensor is in an incorrect position
- Incorrect voltage supply to the sensor
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes, deal with any other transmission codes first, then clear this code
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the signal from the position sensor for shift fork A in live data and check whether any value stands out
- 3Have a workshop check the voltage supply to the position sensors
- 4Have a workshop decide whether the mechatronic unit needs replacing; if the values are outside or at the limit it should be replaced

- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- No movement forward or in reverse with a gear selected
