What does this fault code mean?
The position sensor for shift fork A gives a signal that is too low. The control module therefore receives incorrect information about the fork position, which can show up as harsh or jerky gear changes, missing gear changes or gear changes that take too long. The cause may be a wire shorted to ground, a damaged position sensor or a damaged control module.

- Damaged position sensor
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes and deal with any other transmission codes first
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the position sensor for shift fork A with the others in live data and see whether it differs strongly
- 3Have a workshop measure the voltage supply to the position sensors; if it is wrong, the fault is inside the transmission control module
- 4Have a workshop check the wire to ground and, if the values are outside the limit, replace the mechatronic unit

- The malfunction indicator lamp (check engine light) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- No movement forward or in reverse with a gear selected
- Gear changes take too long
