What does this fault code mean?
The position sensor for shift fork B tells the transmission control module (TCM) where the fork is, and the control module uses that information when engaging gears. The code shows that the fork position is unreasonable, which can show up in the gear changes.
Possible causes
- Damaged position sensor
- The sensor reports an incorrect position
- Incorrect voltage supply to the sensor
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes, deal with any other transmission codes first, then clear this code
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the position sensor for shift fork B in live data and check whether any value stands out
- 3Have a workshop check the voltage supply to the position sensors
- 4Have a workshop decide whether the mechatronic unit should be replaced; if the values are outside or at the limit, it should be
