What does this fault code mean?
The position sensor for shift fork D tells the transmission control module (TCM) where the fork is, and the control module uses this when engaging gears. The code shows that the fork position is unreasonable, which can affect the gear changes.
Possible causes
- Damaged position sensor
- The sensor gives an incorrect position
- Incorrect voltage supply to the sensor
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes, deal with any other transmission codes first, then clear this code
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the position sensor for shift fork D with the other three in live data and see whether it differs
- 3Have a workshop measure the voltage supply to the position sensors and decide whether the control module needs replacing
- 4If the values are outside or at the limit, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit
