What does this fault code mean?
The position sensor for shift fork A shows neutral, but the ratio between the transmission input and output speeds shows a gear is engaged. The control module cannot rely on the gear position, which can show up in the gear changes. The cause may be a damaged position sensor, a sensor in the wrong position, incorrect voltage supply to the sensor or a damaged control module.

- Incorrect voltage supply to the sensor
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes and deal with any other transmission codes first
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read position sensor 1 in live data and check whether it shows neutral while a gear is engaged
- 3Have a workshop check the voltage supply to the position sensors
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop decide whether the mechatronic unit needs replacing

- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- Gear changes take too long
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- No movement forward or in reverse with a gear selected
