What does this fault code mean?
Shift fork A is stuck and does not move when the control module requests it. The transmission may then be unable to engage the requested gear, which affects gear changes and driving. The fault may be a damaged shift fork, a damaged position sensor or a lack of hydraulic pressure to the shift system.

- Damaged shift fork
- Damaged position sensor
- No hydraulic pressure to the shift system
What you can do
- 1Read all transmission codes first and deal with any codes for hydraulics or position sensors, as they may be the cause
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3Have a workshop decide whether the fault is in the mechatronic unit or in the transmission itself, as the transmission may need replacing

- The malfunction indicator lamp (check engine light) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- No movement forward or in reverse with a gear selected
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
