What does this fault code mean?
Shift fork B shifts itself out of the N position without a request from the control module. The cause may be a hydraulic fault or a damaged position sensor.
Possible causes
- Fault in the hydraulic system
- Damaged position sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the hydraulics and the position sensor; both fault sources are in the mechatronic unit, which is replaced in that case
Symptoms you may notice5
- The malfunction indicator lamp (check engine light) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- No movement forward or in reverse with a gear selected
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often
- Automatic engine start and stop does not work, including at idle
