What does this fault code mean?
The control module has detected that two even gears are engaged at the same time. A mechanical interlock between the gears should prevent this, so the cause may be a damaged position sensor or a damaged interlock together with a hydraulic fault. The cause is hard to track down.
Possible causes
- Damaged position sensor
- Faulty interlock combined with a hydraulic fault
What you can do
- 1Read and deal with the other transmission codes first
- 2Checking the sensor alone does not settle it, as the fault appears together with a hydraulic fault; have a workshop diagnose it
- 3Have a workshop decide whether the whole transmission must be replaced, since the hydraulic fault may be inside or outside the mechatronic unit

- The malfunction indicator lamp (check engine light) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow symbol and text message in the display
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often
- Harsh or jerky gear changes
- No automatic gear changes
