What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) receives no valid signal from the engine control module about the requested slip speed of the torque converter. That signal controls when the slipping lock-up function should be engaged, so the control module uses a default value instead.
Possible causes
- The cause should be sought in the engine control module (ECM)
- Temporary breaks or a short on the CAN wire between the ECM and the TCM
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronics control module (CEM) and the engine control module first, and deal with them
- 2Do not clear this code before any codes in the CEM and the ECM are fixed and cleared
- 3If no codes are stored, have a workshop troubleshoot the CAN network
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The transmission control module uses a default value for the signal
