What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) receives no valid signal for the requested torque limit from the engine control module on HS-CAN 2. The signal helps decide shift points and adjusts the system pressure in the transmission. The control module then uses the matching signal on HS-CAN 1 instead.
Possible causes
- The cause should be sought in the engine control module (ECM)
- Temporary breaks or a short on the CAN wire between the ECM and the TCM
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronics control module (CEM) and the engine control module first, and deal with them
- 2Do not clear this code until the fault in the engine control module is fixed and its code is cleared
- 3If no codes are stored, have a workshop troubleshoot the CAN network
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect2
- The control module uses the signal from HS-CAN 1 instead
- If that signal is also faulty, the control module uses a default value
