What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has received a signal from the steering angle sensor (SAS) that it cannot rely on. The fault lies first and foremost in the steering angle sensor, and the code gives no noticeable symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Fault in the steering angle sensor (SAS)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the steering angle sensor and the central electronic module (CEM) and deal with them first
- 2Clear the code once the fault in the steering angle sensor has been fixed, and check that it does not return
- 3Check the connector at the steering angle sensor for looseness, corrosion and damage
- 4Steering is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any work on the steering angle sensor
