What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) receives faulty signals from the electric transmission oil pump. The pump maintains pressure and flow in the gearbox while the automatic engine start-stop function is active, and when the signal is faulty the TCM can switch that function off. The fault lies either in the connector or wire to the pump, or in the pump itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged connector or wire to the oil pump
- Internal fault in the electric oil pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to the gearbox electric oil pump is tight and free from corrosion and damage
- 2Check that the wiring between the gearbox control module and the oil pump is not chafed or broken
- 3If nothing can be found, clear the code and see whether it returns
- 4If the fault returns, a workshop needs to assess whether the electric oil pump should be replaced
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic engine start-stop does not work, both when driving and at idle
