TRM-U300362 - Battery Voltage. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Trailer Module (TRM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery voltage measured by the tow hitch control module (TRM) does not match the one reported by the central electronic module (CEM). The fault only needs acting on if the code has been active for a long time and the car has loss of function; otherwise the code can be cleared without action.
Possible causes
- The supply wire to the tow hitch control module is short-circuited to ground
- Contact resistance or corrosion in the connections
- Damaged alternator
- Damaged battery
What you can do
- 1If the code has been active only briefly and no functions are failing, clear it without further action
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact, that the battery is charged, and that the battery terminals are tight
- 3Check that the alternator charges the battery while driving
- 4Check the connectors and wiring to the tow hitch control module for contact resistance and corrosion
- 5Have a workshop measure the supply and earth to the tow hitch control module and the central electronic module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice1
- Trailer lighting does not work
