Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The television module (TVM) measures the voltage on antenna 3. When the voltage becomes too high the code is set, because the cable between the antenna and the TV module has contact with voltage. The antenna signal can then degrade so that TV reception becomes poor.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to voltage in the wire that links antenna 3 with the Television Module (TVM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the TV system are intact.
- 2Read off the code, clear it and test-drive the TV function to see whether it returns.
- 3Look for chafing and pinched areas on the cable to antenna 3, especially where it runs close to other cables.
- 4With a multimeter you can check that the cable has no contact with battery voltage.
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: watch the antenna voltage in live data and see whether it reads too high while the TV function is in use.
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the antenna and the cable.
Symptoms you may notice1
- TV reception is poor or does not work
