VOLVO
UEM-000C - Mass movement sensor. Signal too high
System
Upper Electronic Module (UEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The upper electronic module (UEM) reports a high signal level on the movement sensor's supply wire while the alarm is off and the ignition is off. The code is set when this happens. The cause is that the supply cable to the sensor is short-circuited to voltage.
Possible causes
- The sensor's voltage supply is short-circuited to voltage
What you can do
- 1Read off the code, clear it and check whether it returns.
- 2Look for pinched areas, chafed spots and loose connectors on the sensor's wire.
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the supply cable to the sensor has no contact with battery voltage.
- 4Check the connectors at the sensor and at the upper electronic module for corrosion.
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the wire and the sensor.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The alarm does not respond to the movement sensor
