What does this fault code mean?
The upper electronic module (UEM) reports a low signal level on the movement sensor's communication wire while the alarm is off. The code is set when this happens. The fault comes from the wire being short-circuited to ground, or from a defective sensor.
Possible causes
- The sensor communication wire is short-circuited to ground
- Defective sensor
What you can do
- 1Read off the code, clear it and check whether it returns.
- 2Look for damage, chafed spots and pinched cables on the communication wire to the sensor.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the communication wire has no contact with ground (the bodywork).
- 4Check that the connectors at the sensor and the control module are firmly seated and not corroded.
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop replace the sensor.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The alarm does not respond to the movement sensor
