What does this fault code mean?
On the XC90 the code applies to the front movement sensor. The fault can come from poor contact in the sensor or on the control module side, a break in the sensor communication cable, a short to voltage in that cable, or a defective sensor.
Possible causes
- Poor contact on the sensor side and/or on the control module side
- Break in the sensor communication cable
- Short to voltage in the sensor communication cable
- Defective sensor
What you can do
- 1Read off the code, clear it and check whether it returns.
- 2Look for loose connectors and oxidation at the front sensor and at the control module connector.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the communication cable to the front sensor has no contact with voltage.
- 4Also check the connector in the cable harness between the control module and the front sensor.
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop replace the sensor.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The alarm does not respond to the movement sensor
