What does this fault code mean?
The code refers to the front right reading lamp, even though it is only named reading lamp. It is set when the upper electronic module (UEM) registers a faulty signal from the lamp. This is caused either by the switch being stuck in the pressed position or by the signal wire having contact with voltage.
Possible causes
- The front right reading lamp's switch is stuck in the pressed position
- The signal wire to the front right reading lamp has a short circuit to voltage
What you can do
- 1See whether the button for the front right reading lamp is jammed down.
- 2Clear the code and check whether it returns.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire between the upper electronic module and the roof lamp has no contact with voltage.
- 4Replace the wire if you find a fault on it.
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the roof lamp unit and replace it if needed.
