What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the control signal from the general courtesy lighting, which belongs to the roof lamp. It is set when the control module registers a faulty signal from it. UEM-0035 and UEM-0037 are often stored together with this code. The fault comes from a break or a short to voltage in the signal wire, or from the connection to the roof lamp control unit not sitting properly.
Possible causes
- Break in the signal wire for the general courtesy lighting
- Short to voltage on the signal wire for the general courtesy lighting
- The connection to the roof lamp control unit does not sit properly
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors to the upper electronic module and the roof lamp are firmly seated and not oxidised.
- 2Read off the code, clear it and check whether it returns.
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the signal wire is intact and has no contact with voltage.
- 4If a fault is found in the wire, replace it.
- 5If no fault is found, try replacing the lamps in the roof lamp.
