Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the sun roof control module registers an internal fault. The causes concern the supply, the grounding and the connectors to the sun roof motor, for example a blown fuse or oxidised connectors. The electric sun roof then does not work.
Possible causes
- The ground wire to the sun roof control module has contact with voltage
- Open circuit or short to ground in the wire from the control module to the motor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Blown fuse
What you can do
- 1Run the sun roof to both of its limits and see whether it moves freely.
- 2Check that the fuses for the sun roof are intact.
- 3Look for oxidation and loose contacts between the sun roof control module and the sun roof motor.
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire between the control module and the motor is not broken and has no contact with ground (the bodywork).
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the wire and replace the sun roof motor or control module if needed.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The electric sun roof does not work
