Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the sun roof control module registers an internal fault. This can be because no control signal comes from optical sensor 1 while the relay is engaged and the motor gets power. If the position wheel in the control module does not seat correctly on the drive wire, the code is also set. The automatic closing then does not work.
Possible causes
- No control signal from optical sensor 1 while the relay is engaged and the motor gets power
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the position wheel in the sun roof control module engages correctly with the drive wire.
- 2Read off the code, clear it and check whether it returns.
- 3Test whether the sun roof operates normally.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the sun roof control module.
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic sun roof closing does not work
