Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The upper electronic module (UEM) takes in the signals from the wheel tyre pressure sensors and keeps an internal list of the sensors in the car. The code is set when the transmissions from the second of the four approved sensors stop while driving. The pressure for that wheel is then not shown.
Possible causes
- Defective tyre pressure sensor
- The receiver for the tyre pressure signals is not working
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop activate the sensors with diagnostic equipment and check that each wheel gives its own ID number.
- 2If the sensor for the affected wheel does not respond, have a workshop replace it.
- 3Clear the code and see whether it returns.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the receiver.
Symptoms you may notice2
- Message in the display
- The tyre pressure monitoring warning lamp lights or behaves abnormally
