The most frequent cause on W204, W212, and Sprinters is a worn-out DC motor inside the electronic steering lock (ELV/ESL) or internal EZS switch failure. Without unlock confirmation from the ELV, the ignition remains locked.

We perform diagnostic bench testing and repair on the EZS and ELV assembly, replacing worn steering lock motors or retrofitting solid-state ELV emulators.
