Technical Description
P02D0 is set when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) reaches the maximum adaptive learning limit for the fuel injector on cylinder 2. The ECU monitors crankshaft acceleration (misfire detection/cylinder contribution) to balance torque output between cylinders. If the injector requires an excessive offset (duty cycle extension) to achieve the target acceleration, the system triggers this code indicating the injector is likely worn, fouled, or suffering from a mechanical delivery issue.
Possible Causes
Fuel injector cylinder 2 is fouled, leaking or faulty
Incorrect IMA/IQA injector coding in the ECU
High resistance in wiring or connector (corrosion)
Mechanical engine issue on cylinder 2 (low compression)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
