Technical Description
DTC C0311 is triggered by the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) when a circuit malfunction is detected in the transfer case shift motor, internal lock brake circuit, or front axle disconnect actuator circuit. The TCCM continuously monitors circuit continuity and driver FET current. If an open circuit, short to battery voltage, or invalid feedback state from the positional encoder is identified during actuation, the module stores C0311 and enters a fail-safe mode, disabling 4WD/AWD engagement to prevent mechanical transfer case damage.
Possible Causes
4. Defekt positionsencoder/lägesgivare integrerad i ställmotorenheten.
5. Internt hårdvarufel i TCCM (brända utgångsdrivsteg / H-bryggans MOSFETs).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
