Technical Description
DTC C0331 is set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) detects an open circuit, short to ground, or short to voltage in the front axle engagement switch / actuator feedback signal circuit. The TCCM applies a pull-up voltage to monitor the front axle locking state; when the actual feedback voltage fails to transition according to the commanded actuator position within the calibrated time window (typically 2–5 seconds), the module flags an electrical fault and disables 4WD engagement.
Possible Causes
1. Korrosion eller fuktinträngning i kontaktstycket vid framaxelns ställdon/givare.
2. Defekt mekanisk mikrobrytare/lägesgivare inbyggd i framaxelns aktuator.
3. Kabelbrott eller skavd ledning (kortslutning mot chassi) i kabelstammen längs framvagnsbalken.
4. Mekanisk blockering i framaxelhylsan/gaffeln som hindrar switchen från att fysiskt slutas.
5. Internt hårdvarufel i Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) pull-up-krets.

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
