What does this fault code mean?
A fault inside the steering wheel angle sensor means the signals it reads from the code wheel do not agree with each other. The fault disconnects the stability control function. The sensor is fitted to the underside of the contact reel and is changed together with that part.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the steering wheel angle sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Turn the steering wheel fully to the right, then fully to the left, and read the code again
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the counters for the fault status: many incorrect driving cycles point to a recurring fault, few to a temporary one
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the contact reel with the steering wheel angle sensor, and the steering wheel module (SWM) if it still returns
- 5The stability system is off while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly
Symptoms you may notice1
- Anti-spin warning lamp is on
What the fault can affect1
- Stability function blocked
