Mercedes Bosch EDC15C0-(CDI1) Engine Control Unit (ECU)

The Bosch EDC15C0, also known as CDI1, was the first generation of engine management for Mercedes common rail diesel engines. The system introduced electronic control of fuel pressure and injection timing to optimize combustion. This unit utilizes a 16-bit C167 architecture and marked the transition from mechanical injection systems to fully digitized engine management.

Cooling fan running continuously when ignition is on, lack of response from the fuel pressure regulator during cold starts, and faulty glow plug relay control leading to difficult starting in cold conditions.
